Wasabi Expands Global Presence, Announces APAC Headquarters in Japan
Wasabi Technologies, the hot cloud storage company, today announced the expansion of its Asia-Pacific presence with the opening of its Japanese headquarters. The headquarters will serve as a base for a variety of countries in the region including Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand. In tandem with the new headquarters, Wasabi has appointed Kaz Kuroda Vice President of Asia-Pacific and Managing Director of Japan to lead the office. Read more >>

Wasabi Raises Additional $25M in Funding, Led by Prosperity7 Ventures, and Extends Series C to $137M in Financing
Wasabi, the hot cloud storage company, today announced $25 million in additional funding led by Prosperity7 Ventures, the diversified growth fund of Aramco Ventures. Western Digital Capital, the investment arm of storage device manufacturer Western Digital, also participated in the round. This round is an extension of Wasabi’s Series C financing announced in April, expanding the total funding raised for the round to $137 million and the company’s total equity financing to $244 million. Aramco Venture Arm Investing in U.S. Startup Wasabi
The venture capital arm of Saudi Arabia’s state-owned energy producer Aramco is investing in Boston-area cloud-storage startup Wasabi Technologies. One of Aramco’s funds, Prosperity7 Ventures, is contributing to a $25 million follow-on investment, alongside the venture capital arm of disk-drive maker Western Digital Corp., Wasabi Chief Executive Officer David Friend said exclusively in a Bloomberg Radio interview Wednesday.
