Martin F. Lowenthal, MSIM
Martin F. Lowenthal, MSIM works closely with individuals,
families, and companies to achieve long term financial security
on behalf of
The
Bulfinch Group. Martin was one of the youngest members of
the Johannesburg Stock Exchange at 23 and one of the founding
members of the equity options, financial futures and commodity
exchanges in South Africa.
Martin spent 10 years as a partner at a boutique investment bank
where he oversaw the nationwide trading desk that serviced
institutional investors and high net worth individuals. Martin
advised and executed equity and derivative strategies based on
both fundamental and technical analysis.
The firm also helped small to medium size enterprises access
capital with mezzanine finance, IPO and asset securitization and
general financial advisory. Martin was actively involved in
helping these companies with corporate strategy, structure, M&A
and other key managerial issues. The firm listed the first
internet company in South Africa as well as sponsoring the first
asset securitization amongst many other innovative strategies.
Martin was a regular markets commentator on national radio,
Bloomberg and Reuters.
Martin established the Boston office for a nationwide broker
dealer that specialized in sophisticated electronic equity
trading platforms and sales trading service to institutional
investors. Firm was sold to RBC, Royal Bank of Canada.
Martin now helps people change their lives by making them more
financially secure, tax efficient and fully protected, utilizing
this tool.
Martin has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Cape
Town as well as an MS in Investment Management from Boston
University, earning his MSIM designation. Martin is an active
angel investor with a special focus on internet and technology.
He is also a mentor for the Babson MBA EIT program. Martin is a
board member of the JNF, Jewish National Fund in the New England
Zone. Martin is a member and sponsor of Boston Harbor Angels.
Martin holds FINRA 7, 24, 55, 63 & 65 licenses as well as Life,
accident and health insurance. Martin lives in Newton, MA with
his wife Laura and three daughters.
