Len Hafetz

Len has led four software start-ups through growth and successful exits. More recently he founded Mentor Communications to develop and sell software tools for integrating databases. After selling Mentor to EMC, he remained as a Vice President of EMC, where he was VP of Software Product Management and VP in Engineering managing advanced backup and restore products. Prior to that Len built and sold National Data Systems, a developer of portable computers.

He was General Manager of SPMI, a satellite communications based security information firm that was a joint venture between Security Pacific and Bank of New York. As a VP of Encore Computer Resolution Systems Division, manufacturer of intelligent graphic display terminals and high-speed graphic workstations, he set up a manufacturing plant and produced its initial revenue stream.

Len founded Easel and served as CEO from inception. Easel went public after reaching over $30MM in revenues. In addition Len worked for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft doing analytical design for jet engines and rockets and boundary layer R&D.

He was a general partner and founder of a company which successfully developed a medical instrument and has had lengthy consulting contracts with Citibank, Bank of New York, American Express and other corporations. He was also a founder and partner of several high tech and business development partnerships. Len is a Director of a public company and sits on the board of advisors of another.

He is presently a principal and founder of L & P Consulting, specializing in business and product development. In this capacity he has served as CEO, CTO and CIO of client companies and has spearheaded product development projects.

Len holds a Ph.D. in Fluid Mechanics from the University of Connecticut where he taught engineering courses and holds degrees in Mechanical engineering from NYU and Rutgers.

Len has won awards selling life insurance and has been a partner and founder of two indoor-outdoor tennis and recreation facilities.
