Jim Freeman
In 1986, Jim started his own real estate firm after six years working for The Gutierrez Company of Burlington, MA. Freeman Realty Associates, Inc. has been involved in the development and management of a variety of office, industrial and retail projects in Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. The firm has worked both as an agent for third party owners, such as pension funds, and also as an owner developer. Having had the good fortune to sell its major real estate holdings in 2007, Freeman Realty Associates continues to actively look for investment opportunities both in real estate and other areas. It remains a small, family owned, business now including a son and daughter as part of the firm.
Jim began his career as a City Planner working in Groton, CT and Natick, MA. As Planning Director in Natick, he was involved in the development of mixed use zoning which led to successful redevelopment projects along Route 9 and in Natick Center. As a planner, he also designed and implemented a demand responsive local bus system which became the subject of a joint study between the US and German Departments of Transportation.
Jim has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell and a MS in Civil Engineering from WPI. Jim is married with three grown children. He enjoys sports, having played football and track at Bucknell. He also served four years in the US Navy Submarine Service.
